This Wolseley Hornet Special was dismantled in the 1950s. When it arrived it was in a very sorry state. The chassis had been unrivetted and many other parts had been totally dismantled, the gearbox had been stripped down to its last nut and bolt, and stored in an old tea chest.
The car was totally rebuilt inhouse, to the customers exact specifications. All mechanical components were restored or improved, the intention was for the car to be driven to German hillclimbs and Oldtimer events and then be driven home. The bodywork was designed in house, with inspiration from an original 1930s MG. Many of the detailed parts were designed and made in house, from the bespoke headlamp and oil cooler stoneguards, the seats and interior panels designed and made to look like they were original 1930s parts, not to mention the sand bent, twin exhaust system.
